Racial Justice and Health Equity Sub-Committee
The Racial Justice and Health Equity (RJHE) Advocacy sub-committee was created in June 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the racial unrest that started in late spring.
The purpose of this Advocacy sub-committee is to provide advocacy and networking opportunities for NJ SOPHE members who are committed to racial justice and health equity. The committee plans to:

SOPHE Advocacy Summit
NJ SOPHE provides a scholarship to one NJ SOPHE member to attend the Annual SOPHE Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC. Attendees of the Summit spend several engaging days in skill-building workshops that develop and hone their advocacy skills, with the final day spent visiting officials on Capitol Hill.

How to Get Involved
We invite any interested members to join the Advocacy Committee! Participating in the committee is a fantastic way to learn about the legislative process, support policies that promote public health, and build skills to help you engage with policy makers.
