The New Jersey Chapter of the Society for Public Health Education (NJ SOPHE) was established in 1984. Hear from some of our early members and past presidents!
The founding health education professionals developed the following preamble to guide the purpose and direction of the chapter:
"New Jersey Society for Public Health Education (NJ SOPHE) is a professional organization of health educators. The purpose of this chapter is to promote, encourage, and contribute to the advancement of the health of all people through education by encouraging study, improving practices, and elevating standards in the field of public health education. NJ SOPHE provides an opportunity for its members to foster and improve health education principles throughout New Jersey."
NJ SOPHE has served as a professional conduit for health educators across the state to share best practices, network across various work settings and public health specialties, and partner with other non-profit, governmental, private, faith-based, academic, and healthcare organizations on public health issues.
