NJSOPHE history: Michelle joined NJSOPHE in 2018 as a student member and serves on the 2023 executive board as the Communications Coordinator. She looks forward to continue taking on roles in the future.
Bio: Michelle is an MPH graduate with a focus on Community Health Education and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. Her interests entail striving towards health equity and providing comprehensive health education for all. In her current role, she is a public health consultant for NJDOH with an emphasis in health education. In this position she creates health education materials and websites. She also works on other tasks such as editing databases, community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and continuing education. Her main experience entails community health, education, prevention, advocacy, research, and evaluation consulting. More recently, she also serves as a public health adjunct professor to get to know the future of public health.
