NJSOPHE history:Miriam has been a NJSOPHE member since 2019. She was awarded the Advocacy scholarship and had the opportunity to attend the 2023 SOPHE Advocacy Summit (feel free to ask her about it). She looks forward to working with the communications team to support NJSOPHE this year.
Bio: Miriam has over twelve years of experience providing patient care, customer service, and health education in the public and private sectors. She is skilled in delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and culturally competent health education materials and interventions to diverse populations and stakeholders. Miriam is passionate about improving public health outcomes and reducing health disparities by empowering individuals and communities to make informed, healthy choices. She holds her Bachelor of Public Health with a concentration in Education and Advocacy from Rutgers University. Additionally, she has a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential and is completing her Master of Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University.
