NJSOPHE history: Livia joined NJSOPHE in 2018 as a student member and serves on the 2022 executive board as the Communications Coordinator.
Bio: Livia Lazzaro, MPH, MA, is the Internship Coordinator in the Department of Public Health at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) where she teaches undergraduate public health capstone classes, serves as the academic advisor for Public Health minors and as a Department liaison to the Public Health Alumni Chapter.
Livia has over a decade of professional experience in higher education and blends her passion for education, health, and communication by working on numerous public health initiatives. Livia served as a research assistant for numerous projects addressing social determinants of health including working on projects at a global grant-making foundation in New York City as well as traveling to Haiti to support local maternal and child health projects with data collection and capacity building. Livia also participated in numerous health-related initiatives on TCNJ's campus in the Ewing/Trenton area. Livia is currently also a research assistant at Yale University's Substance Abuse and Sexual Health (SASH) Lab where she assists with conducting community participatory research and creating interventions for youth in Paterson, NJ.
Livia earned her AA from Raritan Valley Community College in Communication Studies, BA from Bloomfield College in English Literature, MA from Montclair State University in Public and Organizational Relations, and MPH from TCNJ.
