NJSOPHE History: Judith has been member of NJSOPHE since 2014, and has served as Treasurer for 4 years. She is now the 2023 President for the New Jersey chapter.
Bio:
Dr. Judith L. Francis has been working in the field of health education for over 20 years. She was previously employed as a health educator at Holy Redeemer Homecare in Elizabeth, NJ. In her role as health educator, Judith has planned, developed, and implemented evidence- based prevention and wellness health education programs for school-based, older adults, and community population groups within Union county.
Judith is currently employed as a Program Manager where she oversees the Healthy Women Healthy Families program in Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, and Hunterdon counties. This new role has given Dr. Francis the opportunity to work with maternal and child care issues for pregnant and post-partum mothers and their families.
One of her favorite roles and responsibilities has been working as an adjunct professor for the past 13 years at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. She works in the public health department and teaches a health and wellness course. Dr. Francis loves to educate and inspire the minds of her students.
Dr. Francis’s passion for education has led her to achieve her most recent accomplishment. Judith recently graduated with her Doctor of Education degree (Ed.D) in Educational Technology Leadership from New Jersey City University (NJCU). With her academic degree, Dr. Francis plans on developing new digital educational curriculum to enhance the pedagogy styles of public health instructors.
Judith is also a mother to a very energetic 13-year-old basketball enthusiast. On any given Saturday, you can find her playing a game of one on one with her son.
