NJ SOPHE history: Candice has been a member of NJ SOPHE since 2002 and has served on the Executive Board as Recording Secretary and President and has served on several committees including Strategic Planning, Program Committee and Advocacy Committee.
Bio: Candice received a Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Public Health, with a concentration in Community Health Education from New York University. Candice is an alumni of the Mid-Atlantic Public Health Leadership Institute through Johns Hopkins University. Candice has served in various capacities including a maternal child health/ PICU nurse, Assistant to the Executive Director of the Office of Children’s Health Protection, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), Region 2; Health Educator/ Risk Communicator for the Somerset County Health Department during the Bioterrorism CDC grant; Research Scientist and Lead Health Educator for the Vaccine Preventable Disease Program at the New Jersey Department of Health; Public Health Program Coordinator at the Office of Continuing Professional Education at Rutgers University and the Co-Founder of The Gratitude Graffiti Project. Candice is currently the Public Health Nursing Supervisor/ Health Educator for the Maplewood Health Department in Essex County.
