Currently, she serves in the role of Program Chair. Furthermore, Kimberly was honored with the Health Educator of the Year award in 2023. Bio: Kimberly is a public health professional with expertise in health promotion, community outreach, health education, and research. Kimberly is also a public health consultant, a public servant at the Township of Irvington, Associate Director of Community Outreach at the Substance and Sexual Health Lab at Yale University, and an adjunct professor at Montclair State University. She is a first-generation public health professional determined to improve the health of marginalized communities. She was honored with the Health Educator of the Year Award in 2020. Bio: Angelica Espinal-Garcia, MPH, MCHES, is a dedicated Health Educator at the Freehold Area Health Department, a role she has held since March 2018. With a strong background in community health, Angelica previously worked at Casa Freehold, a non-profit, for eight years, where she played a key role in connecting residents to essential healthcare services and social support. In addition to her current role, she is a Board member of Neighborhood Connections to Health (NCTH) and serves on the CentraState Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She is also the past Board President of Casa Freehold. Angelica is very passionate about public health and advocates for health equity through community empowerment, engagement, and building sustainable connections. Having migrated from Honduras as a teenager and being a first-generation college graduate, Angelica is deeply attuned to the unique challenges faced by immigrant communities. This personal experience fuels her passion for addressing health disparities and creating more inclusive public health policies and interventions. In addition to her work at the Freehold Area Health Department, Angelica also provides contracted services as a certified bilingual trainer, delivering mental health trainings across New Jersey to advance mental health equity. Angelica holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Rutgers School of Public Health. She is happily married and the proud mother of four brilliant and compassionate children, who are her greatest source of joy. |
